If you've ever wanted to run with a current Olympic champion, run for the City of Townsville or run for the reef, now's your chance! Register for City Run Townsville on September 15 and run with Jess Trengove and run for Townsville along The Strand.
With 20% of all registrations going to the Run for the Great Barrier Reef Research Fund, it's all the name of a good cause and a whole lot of fun! Sign up as an individual or get a corporate group together, dress up in something 'reefy' and show Cairns & Mackay that Townsville is the jewel in the Crown of North Queensland!

REGISTRATION OF PARTICPANTS UNDER 18:
By law Parents or Guardians must register on behalf of participants under the age of 18.
There will be a section in the registration to complete by the Parent or Guardian.

This course is a looped 2.5km course around the picturesque Strand area with the crew from Star FM bringing the beats and the fun - this will be an event to remember!

Solar Care CITYRUN 2.5KM is open to everyone, walkers, runners, wheelchairs and prams.
BIB COLLECTION:
If you register by 5:00pm on 4 September you can choose to either receive your bib via post for $5 – or collect on Friday 15 September from the race precinct.
T-SHIRTS:
Early Bird t-shirts will be made available for collection on the day of the event.
MINIMUM AGES:
The minimum age for the 5KM is 6 years and up
The minimum age for the 10KM is 8 years and up
TIMING:
Both the 5km and 10km events are timed events. Multisport Australia will be timing each event in each location and displaying live results direct to the Solar Care CITYRUN website. Also displayed will be the aggregated leaderboard across all Solar Care CITYRUN events, so participants can view where they placed within the entire Solar Care CITYRUN event.
2.5KM IS OPEN TO EVERYONE
Solar Care CITYRUN 2.5KM is open to everyone, walkers, runners, people with disabilities and prams.
DRINK STATIONS:
There is one drink station on course, manned by the local Surf Life Saving Club. Both water and Powerade will be offered for participants. A refreshment area will be available post event near the finish line.
TOILETS:
Signage for toilets will be available at race central.
ARRIVAL TIME:
All participants must arrive at CITYRUN 30 mins prior to their event.
PARKING:
Where possible participants and spectators are advised to consider parking away from the course area.
PUSHERS AND PRAMS:
Participants with pushers and prams are permitted only in the 2.5km event and must start from the rear of the field.
PARTICIPANT SAFETY:
All participants are advised to be fit and healthy to compete in CITYRUN. This advice relates especially to the 5km and 10km events. Participants should also be careful to remain hydrated at all times, be aware of sandflies and be considerate of all participants competing.
INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Participants should be aware that CITYRUN may be held in inclement weather. Any weather warnings will be sent to participants by email and announced on STAR FM.

Event notifications will be posted on www.cityrun.com.au and be sent direct to participants be email.
ST JOHNS:
St Johns Ambulance will be providing first aid assistance during the event and emergency medical will be on standby.
