BIB COLLECTION:

PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARRIVE WELL BEFORE YOUR RACE START TIME TO COLLECT YOUR BIB / CHEST PLATE

 

REGISTRATIONS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 20 MINUTES BEFORE EACH RACE START:

However please ensure you arrive early to register on the day to avoid disappointment.

 

REGISTRATION OF PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18:

By law Parents or Guardians must register on behalf of participants under the age of 18.
There will be a section in the registration to complete by the Parent or Guardian.

 

T-SHIRTS:

Early Bird t-shirts will be made available for collection on the day of the event.

A synchronised start time is set for these times.

MINIMUM AGES:

The minimum age for the 5KM is 6 years and up

The minimum age for the 10KM is 8 years and up

 

TIMING:

Both the 5km and 10km events are timed events. Multisport Australia will be timing each event in each location and displaying live results direct to the Solar Care CITYRUN website. Also displayed will be the aggregated leaderboard across all Solar Care CITYRUN events, so participants can view where they placed within the entire Solar Care CITYRUN event.

 

2.5KM IS OPEN TO EVERYONE

Solar Care CITYRUN 2.5KM is open to everyone, walkers, runners, wheelchairs and prams.

 

DRINK STATIONS:

There is one drink station on course, manned by the local Surf Life Saving Club. Both water and Powerade will be offered for participants. A refreshment area will be available post event near the finish line.

 

TOILETS:

Signage for toilets will be available at race central.

 

ARRIVAL TIME:

All participants must arrive at CITYRUN 30 mins prior to their event.

 

PARKING:

Where possible participants and spectators are advised to consider parking away from the course area.

 

PUSHERS AND PRAMS:

Participants with pushers and prams are permitted only in the 2.5km event and must start from the rear of the field.

 

PARTICIPANT SAFETY:

All participants are advised to be fit and healthy to compete in CITYRUN. This advice relates especially to the 5km and 10km events. Participants should also be careful to remain hydrated at all times, be aware of sandflies and be considerate of all participants competing.

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

Participants should be aware that CITYRUN may be held in inclement weather. Any weather warnings will be sent to participants by email and announced on STAR FM.

 

EVENT NOTIFICATION:

Event notifications will be posted on www.cityrun.com.au and be sent direct to participants be email.

 

ST JOHNS:

St Johns Ambulance will be providing first aid assistance during the event and emergency medical will be on standby. 

 

PRESENTATIONS & PRIZES:

  • 1st, 2nd & 3rd place male and female in each 5km and 10km events in each CITY*
  • Overall male and female winners in the 5km and 10km across the 3 CITIES*
  • 1st place champions medallion male & female in the 2.5km in each CITY ONLY

  • Highest RUN for the REEF Fundraiser Individual in each CITY ONLY
  • Highest RUN for the REEF Fundraiser in the STAR Corporate Team Challenge in each CITY
  • Highest overall RUN for the REEF Fundraiser in the STAR Corporate Team Challenge across 3 CITIES

  • NewsCorp City v City Challenge Award. Awarded to the CITY with most participants
  • NewsCorp Fastest City Award. Calculated from the first 50 runners across the line in each CITY

*Winners of 5km and 10km will win accommodation & reef trip prizes in Port Douglas, plus FREE RACE ENTRY into the Tropical Journeys Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival on October 22. Overall winners will win an additional 2 nights accommodation.

Prizes are  courtesy of the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas and Tropical Journeys.

 

 

RULES:

  • This is a Run for the Reef event and minimum impact is required at all times = no dumping of waste outside of allocated bin areas / drink stations
  • You must complete the marked course on foot (wheel chairs & prams permitted) under your own power. Trekking poles are permitted
  • Your race bib must be visible at all times on the front of your body for Marathon Photos
  • This is a looped course of 2.5km – follow the course markings and instruction from volunteer marshals at all times
  • This course is held in a PUBLIC VENUE where path-sharing with non-participating public may occur. Please be mindful of others at all times
  • WALKERS /PRAMS – please keep to the left at all times and do not walk in groups spanning the width of the course. This is a looped event and faster runners will need clear path to overtake when necessary
  • JOGGERS – please keep to the left at all times and do not run in groups spanning the width of the course. This is a looped event and faster runners will need clear path to over take when necessary
  • Pets/Dogs anywhere along the course are prohibited – this applies to competitors, volunteers, support crew and spectators
  • All volunteers have the authority of CITYRUN to withdraw a runner if they show signs of distress and are deemed to be a liability to themselves and others. Should you see another runner in need of assistance, you are required to stop and give attention until a volunteer or St. Johns member arrives and to relieve you.
